Greetings! And THANK YOU all for following Homestead Chronicles, both here on the blog and on Facebook and other social media sites! We are overwhelmed by how quickly we have grown and by all the love, support, and encouragement we get from our readers. We just wanted to say “Thank You!” in some small way. We wished & looked for some way to give each one of you a little gift, but alas … with more than 5000 of you, well, that was a bit cost prohibitive so we decided to buy ONE gift and raffle it off to one lucky winner. So you will, at least, get a chance to win! But since we weren’t sure what you most wanted, we took a vote on Facebook. It went like this:

AND THE PRIZE PACKAGE WITH THE MOST VOTES WAS . . .
Granite Ware 0707-1 Steel/Porcelain
Water-Bath Canner with Rack, 21.5-Quart
and the
Back to Basics 286 5-Piece Home Canning Kit
Our readers have spoken! So that is what we will be raffling off … right here … today!
Enter below in the rafflecopter widget for YOUR chance to win!
No, it’s not much — just a small token of our appreciation — but, it is the thought that counts, right?
However, in case you were hoping for one those three wonderful books but were waiting to see if they would win the vote, well, you can still order those here. And so you know, I own and use all three of these books! They are GREAT books needed in every homestead library! Also, I was able to find a better price for you on Wardeh’s book so there is some good news, too!

awesome give away…thanks for the chance
I would love to win this so I could start canning again. haven’t canned since I was a girl. AND, I’d like to learn to ferment.
I love the website, and would not change it. Your topics are always interesting.
Thank you for another great give away with several different ways to enter. Keep the information coming along with the reviews. I like the reviews as they have helped me look at items from a different point of view. The knowledge that has come my way is nothing short of amazing. Looking forward to lots more learning and chances to win some awesome prizes.
I can’t think of anything you could do to improve your site. You offer so much information and access to other resources, it is wonderful. The only thing I am looking for more info on is how to use an old wooden weavers loom. If you run across info on that, please share. And thank you for your site, all you share, and your giveaway.
Did some checking around for you today and my friend, Kathrine from grannymiller.com told me that this is the book that taught her how to weave and you might find it helpful: http://amzn.to/1Ab9GKM (affiliate link). Also, check out her blog post here to understand weaving terminology. She says she has a few other articles on weaving on her blog as well so be sure to checkout grannymiller.com. She is the only weaver I know, so perhaps you could pal around with her for a while? She may be able to help. http://www.granny-miller.com/a-few-basic-weaving-terms/
Oh, and Tessa at The Homestead Lady said to tell you, “Tell her to find a local mentor. There’s someone in her community somewhere who teaches classes, restores them or whatever. Youtube videos are great but hands on, local is better.”

Truly enjoy your site — and all of the information provided. I really need to see how-to’s and where to get items. A LOT of this is new to me, and we have to get quite a few things on-line, due to limited shopping options (without traveling too far). I have never canned but always wanted to
I would love to learn how to can! thanks for the opportunity
Fantastic Giveaway…. Good Luck to everyone…!!!
Y’all say this is a little prize, but it would mean that those who can’t hold full time jobs could at least do something to take careof ourselves.
A lot of information there…. Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see anything on raising your own livestock. That might be a good addition.
Great suggestion, John but I would need to recruit a writer/contributor for that. This is because Eddie & I don’t have any livestock (yet) and as such, I don’t think we should be speaking to that topic (no experience). However, I can do round up posts, where I do research and provide links to you to good articles that I have read. I will see what I can do!
