Water Bath Canner & Accessories Giveaway – a Thank You to Our Readers!

StumbleUponPrintFriendly

Greetings!  And THANK YOU all for following Homestead Chronicles, both here on the blog and on Facebook and other social media sites!  We are overwhelmed by how quickly we have grown and by all the love, support, and encouragement we get from our readers.  We just wanted to say “Thank You!” in some small way.  We wished & looked for some way to give each one of you a little gift, but alas … with more than 5000 of you, well, that was a bit cost prohibitive so we decided to buy ONE gift and raffle it off to one lucky winner.  So you will, at least, get a chance to win! But since we weren’t sure what you most wanted, we took a vote on Facebook.  It went like this:

Canner Giveaway Thank you

I can’t think of anything you could do to improve your site. You offer so much information and access to other resources, it is wonderful. The only thing I am looking for more info on is how to use an old wooden weavers loom. If you run across info on that, please share. And thank you for your site, all you share, and your giveaway.

Did some checking around for you today and my friend, Kathrine from grannymiller.com told me that this is the book that taught her how to weave and you might find it helpful: http://amzn.to/1Ab9GKM (affiliate link). Also, check out her blog post here to understand weaving terminology. She says she has a few other articles on weaving on her blog as well so be sure to checkout grannymiller.com. She is the only weaver I know, so perhaps you could pal around with her for a while? She may be able to help. http://www.granny-miller.com/a-few-basic-weaving-terms/

Great suggestion, John but I would need to recruit a writer/contributor for that. This is because Eddie & I don’t have any livestock (yet) and as such, I don’t think we should be speaking to that topic (no experience). However, I can do round up posts, where I do research and provide links to you to good articles that I have read. I will see what I can do!
